Held each October, the Houston Scotch Whisky Society hosts its biggest event of the year: the Fall Gathering – A World Whisky Tasting Extravaganza. This is the only HSWS event dedicated to single malt and single grain whisky from around the globe, featuring countries such as Japan, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon, Wales, France, India, Australia, Taiwan, Sweden, England, Germany, South Africa, and more. While bourbon is never included, the event proudly features American Single Malt as part of the global lineup. With well over 125 expressions, guests embark on a worldwide tasting journey—from delicate, fruit‑forward drams to bold, cask‑strength releases and region‑defining styles rarely seen in the U.S. . Throughout the evening, attendees can also expect premium giveaways, adding excitement to an already unforgettable global whisky celebration.

Each January, on or around the 25th, the Houston Scotch Whisky Society honors Burns Night, the long‑standing Scottish tradition celebrating the life and legacy of Robert Burns, whose poetry and songs have shaped Scottish culture since the first Burns Supper in 1801.
At HSWS, this annual celebration takes one of two forms, depending on where the date falls on the calendar. When January 25 lands on a Saturday, we host a full Burns Night Supper, complete with a Scottish‑inspired meal, the ceremonial Address to the Haggis, heartfelt toasts and readings, and thoughtfully curated whisky pairings. This is our most traditional and immersive cultural event of the year, bringing the classic Burns Supper experience to life for our community.
When the 25th falls on a weekday, we celebrate with a Community Bottle Share on the Saturday before or after.
